APTA Expo 2.6

The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) plays a pivotal role in the advancement of public transportation as a nonprofit international association comprising approximately 1,500 entities from both public and private sectors. Its membership spans various aspects of transportation, including bus services, paratransit, light rail, commuter rail, subways, waterborne services, and intercity and high-speed passenger rail.

Key members include transit systems, firms involved in planning, design, construction, and finance, providers of products and services, academic institutions, transit associations, and state departments of transportation. Notably, APTA stands out as the sole association in North America that represents all modes of public transportation.

In serving the public interest, APTA members are committed to delivering safe, efficient, and economical transit services and products. Remarkably, over 90 percent of public transportation users in the United States and Canada rely on systems operated by APTA members.
